Abigail Awontemi
Field Officer
Abigail Awomtemi is an Environmental Engineer with a strong background in environmental science and engineering.
She earned her BSc in Environmental Engineering from the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR). During her time at UENR, she demonstrated strong leadership and communication skills while serving as the Financial Secretary of the Women in Engineering (UENR Chapter) and Chief of Staff for the Local NUGS and was very active in student advocacy.
Abigail began her professional career as an active Field Officer with Ecological Nest, where she currently works on the Blue Carbon Assessment of Wetlands along the coastal belt of Ghana under the West Africa Coastal Areas (WACA) Project. Her work contributes to environmental data collection, ecosystem assessment, and sustainable coastal management.
She is currently pursuing an MSc in Environmental Science at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), further strengthening her expertise in environmental research and policy.
Abigail values integrity, professionalism, and continuous improvement, and she is committed to making meaningful contributions to environmental protection and sustainable development.
