Solomon Owusu-Amankwaah is a renowned conservation scientist who has actively promoted the restoration of critically degraded landscapes across the transitional and High Forest zones of Ghana. He has developed and implemented projects under the auspices of the Global Environmental Facility (SGP-GEF/UNDP) and the Canadian High Commission. He has undertaken very successful nature-based carbon projects in Ghana, Uganda and Congo through collaboration with foreign partners in Germany and the Netherlands, which have created significant livelihood opportunities for under-represented groups in remote regions in these countries.

He has extensive experience in the private sector, garnered through many years in leadership, managerial and technical roles in well-known companies in Ghana, such as The Good Roll Africa. He was a former executive of the Climate Innovation Network of Ghana, created under the Ghana Climate Innovation Centre. He has a background in Natural Resource Management and molecular & Computational Biology as well as Geographic Information Science. In his spare time, he enjoys reading the history of science, law and geopolitics.
